I must love him too much…

because I now iron his clothes! Never in my life, I had this picture: early morning after feeding my child oatmeal for breakfast, I pick my husband’s shirts from the dryer and iron them.
Those ‘fresh from the dryer’ shirts are actually wearable, especially some of his shirts are iron-free. But they’re not perfectly neat. I love it when my husband wears his shirts done by professional laundry. The light starch and perfect press create crisp shirt and slack.
I want my husband to look really good when he goes to work, but I don’t want him to spend money on his laundry (hm… I’m too much of a homemaker?). So, I tell myself, "You can do it, Uly. You hate it, but you’ll live with it. Ironing sucks. The heat sometimes makes you sweat (it’s spring here, but Arizona has the sunnniest spring), and it takes so much time."
So yeah, I’ve been ironing my man’s working clothes for almost a week. My husband loves it, but he cannot stand every time I say, "You know how much I love you? Gosh, you’re the only guy whose clothes I’ve ever ironed!"
I don’t know how long this new thing will last though… Maybe next week my ‘feminist spirit’ will find its way back, and yell at me, "What were you thinking, Uly? You take care the baby 24/7, cook dinner, clean up the house, and now you have to iron his shirts and pants? Geez, he can do it by himself!!"
So, honey, don’t be too excited just yet? This may not be permanent.

I loathe loathe loathe ironing. But I sometimes have to do it since I can’t stand seeing my man in a wrinkly shirt. Thanks God to the dryer…makes life so much easier:)
Hi hi Uly. Sama gue juga. I love Michael too much jadi ga tega kalo dia berangkat kerja bajunya kusut gitu. Jadi gitu deh ritual paginya.. nyetrika. Padahal jaman dulu boro-boro akrab ama sama setrikaan. Mending gue ngepel deh daripadaa nyetrika.
At least your hubby appreciate you ironing his shirts Uly, Mine doesn’t..udah capek2 nyetrika ehh masih complain katanya gak sebagus di dry clean…I want to kick his lucky @ss!!!
@Heidi: iye… disini sih lumayan ya. Laundry machine-nya juga top.
@Queerine: tapi elu mah udah dari awal, gue baru semingguan. Gue mah boro2 dulu mau. Paul nyeterika sendiri. Kalau lagi males bawa ke laundry. Or kalo lagi super males, pake langsung dari dryer.
@Novee: Wow… I don’t think my husband dares to say such a thing. I think your man needs his ass kick.
Hahahahaha…as long as i can remember…gw pernah bilang..pasti lo sibuk banget, nyuci, nyetrika baju…lo langsung bilang…lo gak perlu nyetrika…ternyata…hehehehe…tapi ada asuknya juga kok…kalo pas lagi pilek bisa cepet sembuh lho…kan panas…se-nggaknya, it works 4 me…
@Paula: Sometimes you don’t get it, Paula. I DON’T HAVE TO (read the lines: the shirts are wearable!), but I do it anyway because I love him enough to give him more than just average treatment. That’s this posting about.
Are you still ironing Paul’s clothes, Uly….lol..!!!
